Dirt King Long Travel Kit | 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma

Overview

The Dirt King long travel kit is designed to improve off-road handling while retaining everyday drivability. It provides up to 13.5 inches of front wheel travel, widens the track 3.5 inches per side and supports tires up to 35 inches. Boxed upper and lower control arms use 1-inch stainless steel uniballs at the outer pivots for strength and articulation.

The lower arms mount in the factory locations to preserve ground clearance. The system is CAD designed, tested and made in the USA.

4WD requirements

Full suspension travel on 4WD models requires a 1-inch differential drop and machining of the inner CV joints for additional articulation. Choose either the axle-shaft package or complete axle-assembly package from the dropdown.

Shock and tire notes

Dirt King Spec shocks provide the intended performance and full travel. Compatible Tacoma replacement coilovers may be used with 600-pound springs, 1.5-inch-wide lower eyelet spacers and 1/2-inch mounting holes, but they can limit wheel travel. Bypass shocks require the separately available DK-811910 weld-on bypass hoop kit. Bump-stop installation also requires welding and frame modification.

Using 35-inch tires requires wheel-well modifications, including folding the firewall pinch weld, shaving the front cab mount and checking upper wheel-well clearance at full bump.
